HYPE's acting class is designed especially for young people interested in dramatic performance. This 33 week course is for students ages 8-13, and is adapted from post secondary level theatre classes, made accessible for the junior actor, to enhance there knowledge of character building, and ultimately improve there acting in live performance. We will start with the basics, add text with Improvisation and Masks, advance into Stage Combat with Sword Fighting, and finish with live performance. Throughout our time we will learn from many various theatre disciplines from masks to Improv.

We with work with many different theatre disciplines including work in Improvisation, Shakespeare, Monologue Work,Masks, Voice, Movement, Neutral Mask and more. Every student will gain a leg up, while improving not only there own acting skills but self confidence as well.

Shakespeare In School

Students will be given a modern approach to Shakespeare and the Elizabethan era. The Shakespeare in School program gives them the opportunity to experience the world of Shakespeare by participating onstage in their very own classroom, breathing life into the characters. HYPE's professional acting instructor will guide students, using a step by step approach, through a variety of Shakespeare's plays, by getting students to play the parts and speak the dialogue. Everyone will gain knowledge about the incredible themes in Shakespeare's works and his influence on the modern world. Students will learn a ton of aspects regarding the Elizabethan Era, and Shakespeare's place within it.
